A shoulder to cry on

When I was 12 years old, I had a lot of friends. Looking back now, my best friend was someone I really never thought as a friend. She is Alaa. I met Alaa at Abedeen Academy. At first I thought she did not want to be my friend and she looked like she hated me too. But now we are best friends!! Alaa is a nice girl, she respects everyone, even the people she does not know. In 2017, I came to Abedeen and met Alaa.

Chicken Soup for the mind

It has been a while since I have had some time to catch a breather. The Eid-Ul Fitr break has come at just the right time. While I get ready to rejoice and celebrate, I cannot help but be reminded of the death by suicide of two very well known figures; one in fashion and design and the other in culinary. Yes, I am talking about the passing of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain, both of whom took their own lives out of depression. They are not the first.

Moving for good

Almost a year ago, my parents decided to move me to a new school. I felt very sad because of the idea of leaving my friends and my old memories and going to a place that is totally new and which i knew nothing about. It wasn’t easy.
The last days of school was very difficult for me. Many stuff happened and I ended up losing my friends because they said I was betraying them by leaving. So I left the school with a lot of sadness that no one can imagine.

All day and all night

Abedeen offers full day classes from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Our students spend the entire day on so many beneficial activities. Join us now! Don’t miss out. Education is expensive but ignorance, social ills, gangsterism, bullying and terrorism are unimaginably costly!

Excuse me

After spending 45 minutes to decipher a block graph in class, the students identified five questions to ask their fellow friends at Abedeen. The questions revolved around the things their friends like the most. Once their teacher approved the questions they chose to ask, they were ready to run their survey of what their friends liked the most.

The Ripple Effect

Albert Einstein’s quote that play is the highest form of research is true in every sense. Many times here at Abedeen, we have witnessed the beauty of students learning through doing, and more importantly, having fun while they are at it.

A place like no other

Abedeen Academy: A place that has given me a lot of inspiration, A place that makes me say, every single night before I went to sleep, “You are doing good today. Try to be better than today”. A place of battle where I can see every single moment the people around me here struggle to be better. A place that has helped me find my personality and in simple words of mine, a place of thousand thoughts.

In full gratitude

Abedeen Academy has taught me so much in the past 5 months. So far, it’s been a rollercoaster. After joining the school, I felt so much gratitude because of the friends I made and the superb teachers I see everyday. Before these past 5 months, I dreaded school. I didn’t have any motivation to continue my academics because of the environment I was in.
