Fight song

Alhamdulillah Ya Rabb. It is music to our ears when parents share the changes they witness in their children.

We have all been hearing and reading about how our current young generation lack knowledge because they do not read. Abedeen students have reading time. There are times they are taken to the library to do some reading. During these times, they are allowed to ask their teacher for meaning, pronunciation, etc. At other times, the teacher would read them stories. It is part of our effort to create a future generation of leaders who read.

It’s been a little over a month that we started the reading programme. And a mother just came up to one of our teachers to express how surprised she was that her daughter has started to pick up a book, and ask to read with mommy or daddy. She was happy. Surprised at first. But happy. To top that up, everyday, she said her daughter would be talking about Allah al-Ahad. Alhamdulillah, her roots are growing, and InsyaAllah will soon be firmly planted as she blooms into a flower.

Creating students who love knowledge is a challenge nowadays. Some of them embrace knowledge almost immediately. Some others take months. And then there are some who take years. We, keep going. One soul at a time.

Wassalam & warm regards
