The Life of Chris

Life was hard for Chris, but he did not give up on himself. He has always wanted to be a writer, however constant bullying from school and in his neighbourhood drove him to suicide at the age of 14. With God’s will, his best-friend was always there for him and helped brought him back. Still, with all of these events happening he did not care so after the suicide scenario he continued looking forward pursuing his interest in sports, that is football. This did not require hands, Chris thought to himself, so he did just that.

Fortnite

The true happiness is in Fortnite.
It is the best game in my sight.
In Fortnite there are dogs, you might get a bite.
When you look at the sun in Fortnite it’s not even bright.
Fortnite is my best game.
Whenever I no-scope somebody, I say damn.

More than meets the eye

Lookism is a form of ideology that is solely based on appearance. People form opinions or ideas and make decisions about something or someone based on outer appearance and this brings a lot of negative side-effects. Martijn Gerrard Garritsen is a 22 year old, Dutch Producer. He grew up in a musical life of his own. He got inspired after watching Tiesto performing at the 2004 Summer Olympics during a commercial break. Garrix became the number one DJ in 2016. Who took my time?

Many months ago, I was stalking Vivy Yusof’s Instagram page and she posted videos of a talk she attended on her Instastory. It was pretty late. I had just put my daughter to bed, and because I did not want the sound of the video to wake her up, I watched the videos without its sound. Couldn’t be bothered to take my headphones downstairs either. Watched the video, read the caption to one of the videos, which immediately caught my attention.

Chicken Soup for the mind

It has been a while since I have had some time to catch a breather. The Eid-Ul Fitr break has come at just the right time. While I get ready to rejoice and celebrate, I cannot help but be reminded of the death by suicide of two very well known figures; one in fashion and design and the other in culinary. Yes, I am talking about the passing of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain, both of whom took their own lives out of depression. They are not the first.

Ready, set, GOAL

Football is one of the most merry sports there is. 22 men chasing after 1 ball. But, they all have a goal. Place the ball into the net. That is the goal.

Needless to say, having a goal gives us direction. That everything planned or executed, is with the intention of meeting the goal. Every argument, debate, disagreements, hustling, strategies, all happen in order to meet the goal.

Shiny and New

I was watching a TEDx Talk by Gautam Khetrapal back in November of last year. Mr Khetrapal asked his audience if they had a smartphone. The camera did not show the audience, but by the look of his expression, I am assuming a majority of them put their hands up. He then asked how many of them had the same phone in the past 2 years. Again, the camera did not show the crowd, but through his reaction, hardly anyone put their hands up.
