Benefits of Social Networking
In this modern era, where everyone is very much interested in social networking, social networking sites have become a norm. Although some parents might think there are no advantages of it, teenagers are actually getting benefits from social networking.
The first benefit of social networking for teenagers is that it can help to strengthen friendships. When teens have healthy friendships, they do not only accept who they are, but they also feel less isolated and more connected to the world around them. For example, sometimes when teens who do not have a social network account hear their friends who have it talk about things they do not know or are not familiar with, this leads to the feeling of isolation.
The second benefit is social networking can be used to build platform. Teenagers begin developing an online presence that can help them to gain attention from many people. For example, teens write blogs, create YouTube videos, post pictures of their creation on Instagram or Tumblr, which help them showcase their talent to the world instead of just keeping it to themselves.
Last but not least, social networking can be used to gain information. Usually when you are scrolling through your feed on any social networking site, you will often find some useful information that could come in handy in the future. For instance, when you are scrolling through your Instagram feed you find an information about how to study more effectively or a website that helps you learn new languages like duo lingo or even about current issues or trends such as the world record egg.
To conclude, I would like to remind that everything has a good side and a bad side, including social networking. But I believe we must always rely on what is good. My advice to all teenagers is to use your social networking account to your own advantage.
